Advanced design methods of digital systems including modelling, simulation, synthesis and verification using hardware description languages, timing analysis and hardware debugging; implementation of computer peripherals in programmable devices. Three lectures, one tutorial, one lab (three hours) every week; first term Prerequisite(s): COMP ENG 2DI4 or ELEC ENG 2DI4; and COMP ENG 2DP4 or 3DJ4, or permission of the instructor.
