A study of the different ways in which the Bible has been read, from antiquity to the modern world, both inside and outside the communities for which it serves as sacred scripture. The course will focus on selected key figures in the history of biblical interpretation. Two lectures, one tutorial; one term Prerequisite(s): Registration in Level II or above. RELIG ST 1D06 or three units from the Biblical Studies Field of Study is strongly recommended.
